Mountains
Mountains
Beautiful views
Climbing, Hiking, Jumping
A big rush of tranquility

This idea came from a car trip I went on through the beautiful mountains and decided to write this cinquain about my experience. This cinquain doesn't have any poetry techniques but a cinquain consists of 2 syllables in the first line, 4 syllables in the second line, 6 syllables in the third line, 8 syllables in the fourth line and 2 syllables in the last line.

Beach
The sea was as calm as the warm breeze,
The water so cold you could freeze,
The sand soft as baby feet,
Colourful fish swimming,
Crabs crawling around,
Shells on the ground,
Sun shining,
Surfing,
Fun.

This idea came from how much I love the beach and how much I love being there with all the beautiful sights and laying in the sun and to have some time to be calm and let all your thoughts out. This is a nonet poem because it has 9 lines counting down from 9 - 1 in syllables. In line 1 and 2 it consists of end rhyme and so does line 5 and 6.

The Jungle
The jungle is alive,
The jungle is beautiful and vibrant,
The jungle is full of noisy animals,
The jungle can have some amazing views,
The jungle is like a school classroom,
The jungle is a flock of cockatoos squawking to each other,
The jungle has huge trees that dance in the wind,
As I walked through the jungle I grinned.

I chose to do this poem to show you a variety of different techniques used in poetry, and the idea came from my own imagination and images I've recently come upon. This poem shows repetition in all stanzas and in stanza 2 line 1 it consists of a simile and in line 2 shows you a metaphor. In the last stanza line 1 portrays a personification and in the last couplet in the last stanza it demonstrates end rhyme.
